I noticed a line of mould on one section of my genoa, that was in its sail bag. It was a job, but I got the section of sail with the mould on it into the bath. I used a laundry soaker containing sodium percarbonate 320/kg and soaked the sail for two days.
You just know how big a #1 genoa is until you have to move it through your home. From the bathroom it just kept coming and it was still in the bathroom when I was in the loungeroom.
After getting the genoa outside, it became an issue in hanging it to dry, Finally decided on hanging the head and leaving the body of the sail over a table and three large bins. The next day after it had dried, a mate came over to help me move furniture out of the lougeroom so we had to floor space to flake the sail.
The mould on the sail had been removed and and after having fun flaking the itl on the loungeroom floor we got it folded and put back into the sail bag.
Job done!
